Lockheed EC-121H Warning Star. This aircraft took off on an Active Air Defense mission during an airshow at Otis AFB, Cape Cod MA., where I was stationed at the time, in the Summer of 1968. It returned one hour later with the #3 engine feathered due to a mechanical malfunction. It has been said that the Constellation was the best 'three engine' airliner ever built, but all in all it did it's job very well.
