I grew up in Provo, those mountains surrounding you somehow make you feel protected, secure. If I’m somewhere that is basically flat. I’m left completely disoriented. This photo catches the closeness of the Wasatch Front cities to mountains in a way that is seldom picked up. As many photos as folks see when they finally get to Utah it’s a shock. Likewise the first time I flew to Denver I was shocked that the city is pretty much flat, the mountains were not close.
