Saab's Aerobahn Suite Grows with FlightAware Integration
HOUSTON - March 9, 2021 - Saab's Total Airport Management capabilities have grown even stronger through a new partnership with FlightAware, leaders in providing advanced, accurate, actionable aviation data and insights. Saab's Aerobahn Total Airport Management Platform is designed to integrate data sources to provide a comprehensive picture to stakeholders. This new partnership with FlightAware is a perfect match to provide a richer set of global flight data and advanced flight predictions. What began as an initiative to expand flight tracking beyond the U.S. National Airspace System (NAS), has now led to the integration of FlightAware Foresight „¢, the best Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) data in the industry. Incorporating Foresight ETAs into Aerobahn improves what is already the most robust collaborative decision-making system available. By enabling users to make earlier and more informed decisions, this new Aerobahn option provides the opportunity to significantly improve operational performance and the passenger experience.
One way to monitor traffic outside of the NAS, as well as in congested gate areas, is by tracking aircraft using ADS-B. With Saab and FlightAware's partnership, global ADS-B data can be integrated into Saab's Aerobahn Suite. FlightAware's Foresight engine applies machine learning and artificial intelligence to this same data to generate the most accurate ETAs in the industry. Aerobahn's Dynamic Rule Engine can utilize these ETAs to enable airline and airport operators to maximize their use of resources, minimize fuel consumption, and reduce passenger delays.
Saab's Aerobahn platform is a decision-making tool that enables collaboration among all airport operations stakeholders. It collects, records, distributes and alerts on status information for all of the key operational elements. With the option of incorporating ADS-B data from FlightAware, Aerobahn can get even more information to users, when and how they want it, powering everything from real-time situational awareness to performance metrics.
