I was flying a Citation, in the early 90's and landed in Laurenberg NC I saw a ILM 62 parked in a boneyard but it had British VC 10 written on the side. I ask the Mgr and he said they didn't want any of the local good ole boys to think the commies were invading. It was a former Check airlilner. Used buy Feds, CIA, FBI Etc to practice storming hijacked aircrft.
Back in "79 I flew CV-580 For Macky Int'l out of FLL. WE flew regular "charter" service to Havana, Veradaro, & Camaguey. The Havana sure looks better today. Saw my 1st IL62m lamd and extend it's Tailwheel.Amazing design. looks just like a British VC-10.
