I fly Emirates using both my mobile phone and my wi-fi tablet or laptop. Not during the sterile portions of the flight- below 10,000 feet, but any other time. And you can turn your phone once the a/c has landed and is still taxiing. If it ok for the worlds largest airline by miles flown, not sure why it isn't for the rest!
My dad had Turbo Commander for most of my growing up. I probably have 2,000 in the right seat. Even though you could override the door lock on the door by wiggling your finger to the 'emergency' switch - we NEVER did anything until the prop stopped 100%.
We are surrounded by danger every day- carnage on the roads, but it is always aviation that gets the bad rap and big headlines.
WOW! In the UK and even here in Dubai on TV the F-word isn't even bleeped! I feel sorry for everyone in the US as it turns into a police state. But here in Dubai if you give another driver the 'bird' you can get prosecuted and go to jail. the difference is that the latter is directed at someone, the former on-board incident it wasn't.
