Just crawling throught the fuselage (believe me, that is the only way to do it) from the flight deck to the tailgunner position gives you a perspective of the horror that bomber crews endured. There is no room in that plane for anything extraneous. I have no idea how a belly or tailgunner endured that for 9 hours.
