From the CNN account: "An airport vehicle met the aircraft as it exited the runway and escorted it to Bombardier Aviation... where it was discovered that the main cabin door was missing," she said.

I suspect, somehow, that the discovery was made before the aircraft actually reached Bombardier.

This happened at my country club! I believe its on one of the final approaches for FLL, since I always see jets and prop planes flying low overhead

Um..you might be thinking of a Learjet with a 2 piece door. Challenger's have a 1 piece door.

Airplane Door Falls Onto Golf Course

Private Jet Lands Safely At Florida Airport
The Canadair CL600 jet was traveling from Opa-Locka to Pompano Beach, Florida, on Wednesday when it was diverted and landed safely at Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, according to FAA spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen.

Main cabin door departs aircraft,a Challenger, after take off and lands on golf course. Leaving opa locka climbing out when main cabin doors leaves for a missed t time!!
