Oddly enough, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif. wants to keep these in service. The odd part is the Hunter is a marine with time in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe he has an idea of what works. Not a flyer, knows what fliers do.

I'll trust a Marine with recent combat experience to tell me what he needs in the field over some desk pilot who hasn't been on the front line in 10+ years (if ever) any day of the week.

Sure, let's get rid of these aircraft that have proved their worth in combat (and in peace) many times over to pay for part of another half-billion dollar plane that has yet to see combat... That's what happens when you get a bunch of fighter jocks in charge fighting an enemy that doesn't exist anymore rather than people who know what is needed for the battles and wars we are fighting now.
