Alaska Air Enters Purchase Agreement With Boeing, Initial Order 50 737s

Alaska Airlines (ALK) disclosed that it entered into an aircraft purchase agreement with Boeing (BA). The agreement includes orders for 50 Boeing 737 aircraft firm deliveries, with the ability to purchase an additional 62 aircraft through options and purchase rights. The firm orders include 13 737-900ER aircraft, 20 737 MAX 8s, and 17 737 MAX 9s. The MAX aircraft is the new engine variant of Boeing's NextGen 737 aircraft, the company said. Alaska Airlines to announce Boeing order today. . .

Multiple sources have confirmed that Alaska Airlines is set to announce a significant order tomorrow for the Boeing 737 MAX. The details are still not fully clear at this point, but I am hearing that the order could involve 40 to 50 plus aircraft. It likely that the order will not just be for the MAX, but also including the 737 NG.

Alaska Airlines Orders 50 Boeing 737 Family Jets, Order Valued at $5 Billion

Boeing and Alaska Airlines announced today a firm order for 20 737 MAX 8s, 17 737 MAX 9s and 13 Next-Generation 737-900ERs. The order, valued at more than $5 billion at current list prices, is the largest in Alaska Airlines’ history.
