Unfortunately I fear that the TSA will grasp on to these intrusive pieces of techno-crap at all costs lest some bureaucrat admit making a bad decision.
They were a waste of money to begin with, the people who are likely to be carrying something that these were Intended to find were able to bypass them for "cultural" reasons anyway.
I guess there were no former politicians or former officials (named Chertoff) involved in the intitial decision. What a profound waste. Another prop in the security theater. Sounds like common sense prevails in other places.
