At the time, the agency claimed the machines could spot all sorts of hidden weapons and contraband. Today, more than 700 of the imagers are in place at 180 airports. Now, let me get this straight. These are the same scanners that we bought more of than we needed(so we'd get a discount) that a bunch of are still sitting in warehouses around the country, unused, and now apparently somebody has sold something that didn't really work to a government dummy that thought he was getting a good deal. Have I got that about right?

Not only do we need a new administration in November but they need to bring all departments to a "0"based budget and have those department heads look at what is actually needed. What a novel idea!

@preacher, we're now talking about trashing the naked scans.

Not to get it confused with the 'puffers' that got tossed in the garbage as well.

Maybe if we had another "gov. agency" and another "czar" it would be a lot better managed.LOL

No, I know. there was an exose here while back about these, and they had almost 200 in warehouses scattered around the country unused. Their reply was that they bought more than they needed because they got a bigger discount. duh! I guess as it turns out we'll spend some more money now.
