BA are now cutting costs in a race to the bottom. They will need to monitor at which point the removal of service to the customer make them no better than the rest. Failure to monitor and chart price vs. customer loyalty can be referred to as COD or the cross of death.

They also replaced the second meal on transatlantic flights with a "fun-sized" chocolate bar. I haven't used them in quite a while as transferring through Heathrow is such a hassle, this is certainly not enticing me to try them out again.
