One of the BEST $100 hamburger places in the country. I've flown numerous passengers to JGG and teh highlight was always lunch on the airfield at Charly's. They have excellent food. I often came in for fuel during flight training, and we were always promptly fueled. I never had any issue coming through here, and I would definitely recommend Williamsburg as a stop if you are transitioning through the mid-Atlantic. It's also very close to Colonial Williamsburg and the attractions. The runway is somewhat up-sloping and there is a landfill at the end, which is notorious for having some wind shear associated on windy days.
I first visited JGG when I was visiting family in town. The airport itself is fantastic! The staff there are extremely friendly and helpful, the service is excellent, and all the prices are reasonable. The staff took good care of me and my aircraft (they even offered to wash it for free). The restaurant is awesome with some of the best pies around. The airport is overall clean and owned by a nice family. This airport is a definite "must visit" destination.
