When you roll up to the FBO, the line guys park you and treat you like royalty.
Once you walk in and to the counter, that quickly changes and you feel like a cash cow up for milking while getting barked at by emotionally unstable CSRs. And with no manager on duty. And no kolaches, only pigs-in-a-blanket (so sausages).
I now advise my passengers that loading and unloading will be performed nextdoor at KTME where the staff is friendlier, fuel prices much lower and the pattern isn't full of students with unintelligible Chinglish.
It does not take much to improve and this airport has a good potential. The management just needs to realize that to be competitive with other businesses, there needs to be a will to compete.
UPDATE: Against my will, I had to land at KIWS again. But this time, I was surprised by a much nicer front desk staff and fees that were much friendlier to GA. Upon inquiring about my previous bad experience, I was informed that the unstable CSR is no longer employed there. Thank you, management, for doing the right thing.
I am upgrading my rating with an extra star.
We use this facility often and have been generally pleased. The staff are courteous and quick and the facility is well kept. The fuel prices can be quite competitive, especially every Saturday and Sunday, when a discount goes into effect.
