Upon landing I was given progressive taxi, was told exactly where to park and given the unicom frequency. I called on Unicom requesting a taxi. A van from the FBO met us at the plane to take us to the terminal and the taxi was waiting for us before everyone was done in the restrooms. On our departure they fueled the plane promptly. After I ran down the battery programing the GPS, it was only a short wait until the FBO manager was able to bring us the battery cart for a cart start. The FBO is out of a small office but we were free to use the tour facilities for my passengers to wait while I checked weather and filed my flight plans. Since the free shuttle to the national park was not running for winter, we got a shuttle/taxi from Xanterra (the Grand Canyon concessionaire). The cost was $6/person for the park entrance fee plus $5/person each way for the shuttle. This is a beautiful place to visit. Piper Saratoga |
