A Super DC-3, also known as the DC-3S and the U.S. Navy's R4D-8, which was later re-designated as the C-117D.

The FAA registry shows this to be a C-117D model as manufactured in 1951 by Douglas with a serial number of 43301.

Joe Baugher's published information reveals this aircraft was originally built as a Douglas C-47A-20-DK Skytrain, MSN 12779 and assigned USAAF s/n 42-92924. It was subsequently transferred to the US Navy and assigned Navy BuNo 17175.

Mr. Baughter adds, "Rebuilt as R4D-8/C-117D MSN 43301. In 2011 was N32TN with Trans Northern Airways, Anchorage, Alaska".

The FAA registry shows her currently registered owner as TMF Aircraft, Inc., of Opa Locka, Florida.
