Making only its second visit to Reno since being unveiled over ten months ago, American's N917NN, dressed in colorful AirCal heritage clothes, glides over the Meadowood neighborhood as it covers the final 1000 feet of its approach to RTIA's runway 34L. The single previous visit by this heritage-schemed fleetbird was seven months ago, in February, and on that occasion it arrived at night (around 8:30 PM) and departed again before dawn, so very few people had an opportunity to see it. Yesterday's arrival came under cloudy skies but at least it was at midmorning so the light conditions were sufficient for this click, and by the time it departed a few minutes after high noon the sun had come out and the lighting was fine.
