Web Software Developer
As a web software developer, you will be a member of the core development team and will work with
Project Managers, the Director of Quality of Assurance, and the Chief Technology Officer. Position is in
Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
The position's
primary responsibility is to develop dynamic and mobile web-based applications using AJAX, HTML, and CSS as well as scripting technology (Tcl) and a database backend (PostgreSQL)
- Working with project managers on scope, sizing, and status of tasks to ensure timely delivery of web applications.
- Actively participating in new product development including designing, documenting, code development, and unit testing of releases.
- Customer-relationship management at the technical and executive levels
- Maintaining current product release through point release patch development.

Experience
- 5 years experience developing web applications
- 2 years experience with AJAX
- 2 years experience with scripting (Tcl, Perl, PHP, etc)
- 1 year experience developing applications for SQL databases
- Ability to work in a team or with multiple organizational departments in a dynamic and rapidly changing environment, with a preference is given to candidates with experience in start-up or emerging companies.
- Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related scientific field preferred
- Solid understanding of the FlightAware web site.
- Pilot certificate (even student) a plus.
Compensation
Only full time/salary positions available. Full-time salary varies between $40,000 and $50,000 based on experience, background, pilot certificate, and education.
